Dallux Mobility enters into the powered mobility market with launch of recliner-style powerchair
Dallux Mobility is entering the powered mobility market with the launch of Skye, a powerchair designed to challenge traditional perceptions of what a powerchair should look and feel like.
Building on the success of its Nevis and Everest riser recliner ranges, Dallux has taken its ‘luxury in mobility’ philosophy into a completely new category, combining the freedom of powered mobility with the comfort and sophistication of a luxury recliner.
Skye has been designed for users who want to maintain their independence without compromising on comfort. Its integrated powered reclining function allows users to adjust their seating position at the touch of a button, while intuitive joystick control provides effortless driving.
Behind the powerchair’s distinctive design is an advanced engineering package, including brushless hub motors for smooth and quiet performance and a magnesium-alloy die-cast frame. The seat and driving base can also be separated, adding further versatility to the design.
But Dallux says the real difference is the philosophy behind the product. Dave adds: “We didn’t want to create a powerchair with a luxury seat added to it. We wanted to design a luxury recliner that could move.”
Skye represents a significant new chapter for Dallux Mobility, extending the company’s established reputation for premium mobility seating into powered mobility.
The company believes the product will give its trade customers an opportunity to offer something genuinely different from conventional powerchairs, while creating a new premium proposition within their showrooms.
Skye will be supplied exclusively through Dallux’s trade network, with showroom demonstrations available to retailers ahead of launch.
Dave added: “It has the potential to open up a completely new category for mobility retailers and, more importantly, to give people who rely on powered mobility a product they can feel proud to own.
“Skye is more than another new product for Dallux. It is our vision of what the future of ‘luxury in mobility’ should look like – and we can’t wait to see it in the hands of our customers.”
